This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss. This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without skipping a beat. This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling. The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause abrasions. The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time. The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance. Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
